Today’s sermon really inspired me. Pastor Steve talked about the power of healing and how it’s connected to the Kingdom of God. The gist of his message was that there is a direct correlation between proclaiming the good news that the Kingdom of God is present through Jesus and healing.

The Kingdom of God is healing

There is no separation between the Kingdom of God and healing. Everything that the Kingdom touches is healing. There is healing in relationship, disease, and any other kind of brokenness that exists in our world.

The scripture from today was Luke 9:3-5, which says, “[Jesus] told them: ‘Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.’”

The power of healing is something that each and every one of us possesses as followers of Jesus. Pastor Steve reminded me today that even the faith of a mustard seed is enough faith to move mountains.

As followers of Jesus, we have our eyes opened to the love and care of Jesus, and He always heals. Maybe it doesn’t happen in the way we want or expect, but He always promises healing. The Kingdom of God is a healing Kingdom.

So what does this mean for us today? It means that we can live a life of healing. We are called to step out in faith, to always be seeking after God, and healing as we walk throughout our days. No, we won’t always see a man’s withered hand fully restored or a terminal disease completely evaporated, but that doesn’t mean healing isn’t alive all around us. God instilled in us the same power that He showed through Jesus. Each one of us has the space and power to heal others through the Holy Spirit. And healing isn’t something that’s meant to glorify us but to glorify God.

I know this blog is all over the place, but I wanted to share my thoughts from today. Who knows, maybe I’ll come back and rewrite this someday, haha. My prayer is that you see the power of Jesus in your life today. May you feel His healing presence, and may God open your eyes to how He is healing in your life every single day!
